The GelRest is a contoured gel pad which attaches via peel-and-stick adhesive to your chinrest.

Rather than simply cut from a flat sheet, like other cushioning materials, each GelRest is cast into a mold to achieve the complex, contoured shape that fits anyone comfortably, yet maintains the look of a traditional chinrest.

The GelRest "Pro" features a GelRest pre-installed to a specially designed chinrest. The chinrest is hand-carved and available in the Guaneri-style in ebony, rosewood, or boxwood, and Kaufman or Flesch center-mount style in ebony only.

The gel material used for the GelRest contains no silicone, and is even approved by the FDA. It's non-slip, even when wet, so holding your instrument is comfortable and effortless on hot summer days, or cool autumn nights.

Models and Sizes: The GelRest is available in Black as well as a selection of colors and patterns, but only in 4/4 size. We offer the GelRest Pro in the Guaneri-style in Ebony, Rosewood, Boxwood. Dimensions: The GelRest ranges from 4 mm in height at its thinnest point to 8mm in height at its thickest, and weighs about 16 grams or 1/2 oz. The hand-carved wood frame measures about 102 mm (4 inches) long and 62 mm (2 3/8inches) in width. The GelRest Pro, with clamp, weighs 62 grams as compared with about 54 grams for the average chinrest, so it only weighs 1/4 of an ounce more than a standard chinrest.

To Clean: Gel is easy to clean, and, unlike other cushioning materials, will not absorb odors or trap bacteria. We recommend cleaning in place and wiping as needed with soap and water, or alcohol. The pad can also be polished with instrument polish or ArmorAll.

Durability: The GelRest indeed is very comfortable, but also virtually indestructible. The gel does not compress or flatten over time. The gel is a solid material and cannot leak. Still, keep sharp objects away and a GelRest will last indefinitely. Replacement pads will be available should they ever be needed.
